Liberty First PAC, a national committee of tea party organizers and activists, congratulates Ray McKinney for his strong performance and first place win in the Georgia Republican Primary!

Ray McKinney, a fiscal conservative hawk and long time patriot in the movement, finished the primary with 42.6% of the vote. The second place goes to Carl Smith, who pulled 27.9%, creating a runoff election scheduled for August 10.

This morning I find myself in an interesting situation. I'm constantly asked to take positions on internal "disagreements" within the Tea Party Movement, and I generally ignore them or refuse to comment.

In my experience, my comments only add fuel to the fire and I believe there are more fruitful ways to spend my time.

The Las Vegas Sun recently published a story about Scott Ashjian, the new "Tea Party" candidate in Nevada who apparently believes that if you say you're the tea party candidate, you should be considered such. But as some in Nevada are pointing out, just because you say you are a tea party candidate doesn't actually make it so.
