Jeff, check out SongofTruth.com - They have candidate vetting groups for the Washington race. There are quite a few good options to beat Patty Murray.

Here is an article in Real Clear Politics that discusses the possibility that Republicans could actually retake the Senate in this mid-term election. Looking for just a couple of vulnerable seats, Patty Murray is listed as one of the possibilities. We need to identify a viable constitutional candidate to run against her. Any ideas?

I did take a look at Ernest Huber's website.

While I am no supporter of Dave Reichert, and believe that in the WA-8 district we need a strong challenger to his non-ideological, unpredictable pragmatism, the election of Mr. Huber would be a disaster. Like Sarah Palin*, he is another example of the religious right that places Christian doctrine above a rationally derived and validated rule of law. I would think that in this day and age, where we can see, on a daily basis, the horrors resulting from the commingling of religion and state power, it would not be necessary to convince even the most religious, that there needs to be a complete separation between church and state. Mr Huber fails that test miserably and should not be supported by anyone.

Mr Huber believes that "fiscal conservatism is amoral and can be deadly without social conservatism." His view of a "Christian, Constitutional America" leads him to propose the following:

* The major players in the main stream media "certainly aren’t operating in the public’s interest, convenience, and necessity. Their broadcast licenses should be permanently revoked." Thus, he shows he is as much an enemy of the First Amendment as any in the Obama administration, and instead of freeing all media from government control, he would use the power of the government to silence those outlets with whom he disagrees.

* He advocates a Christian state government. "If you separate Christian doctrine from state virtue you lose both." "I support voluntary prayer in schools, at sporting events, and other public occasions, governmental or not. The Ten Commandments should be in every public building. Crosses, Christmas trees, and crèches should be on public property." And if there is any question about this issue, try substituting Muslim for Christian in these sentiments and you should begin to see what is tragically wrong here.

* Homosexuality: "I have never known a homosexual who didn’t have a personality disorder. Homosexuality is an intensely codependent sexual addiction that degrades civilizations". "Homosexual acts were felonies forty years ago, and they should be felonies today."

* Abortion: "Abortion was also a felony forty years ago, and it should be a felony today."

* Atheists: "All of the atheists I’ve known are spiritually and morally handicapped." "Not all atheists are communists, but that ideology is their natural inclination." "There are sound reasons why atheists are discriminated against".

* Feminism: "Feminism ... is contrary to women’s nature and is intended to ultimately destroy men and women."

Read his entire election "platform". I have never see a document so filled with calls to jail people for various activities, use the word "castrated" when describing the Republican party, and when discussing the Second Amendment, describe it as "your God-given right to shoot [tyrants] in self-defense." This is a truly disturbed individual!

So, by all means, do take a look at Mr. Huber. And then run as quickly and as far away from him and his positions as possible. This is not a person who understands the principles of individual rights upon which this country was founded, nor does he have a firm grasp on why a constitutionally limited government is necessary in order to preserve those rights. Mr. Huber is simply another dictatorial tyrant ready to replace one set of government-imposed controls on the lives of all citizens, with another set of his own choosing. And as one of those anti-American, communist atheists, I say, were he elected, God help any of us that do not live up to Ernest Huber's view of the right and the good.

No sentiment could be further from the founding principles of this country, and no one who is relying upon divine intervention to solve their problems should be in charge of anything, let alone this country.
