The Patriot Caucus

I'm just wondering if these are two separate groups or the same group with two different names?

Hey Jinx, I don't think they are connected. The Tax Day Tea Party keeps me up to date on plans for the next tax day Tea Party as well as others experience and encouragement. The Tea Party Express is the bus tour that traveled the nation in July to encourage tea partys in the towns they stopped at, there is another in early Nov. to mark one year countdown to the 2010 election. They show the map on their site. I'm near Myrtle Beach, so not close enough for me to make it. Of course the media doesn't cover these efforts much, so everyone is looking for some info and leadership to organize and find out what's going on, as so far the tea parties have been quite spontaneous. I try to keep up with all as well as my local site at Commonsense2020.com for Myrtle Beach area.

Thank you Marcia. I have been hearing some things about the Tea Party Express that I am trying to sort out and for right now do not want to involve myself with them. I am glad they are separate from this. I want to be active with the group that I feel is doing the right thing and this seems to be the group.

For one thing, Dick Armey is with the Tea Party Express and he is for amnesty for illegal aliens. That is not something that I agree with so I have a hard time getting behind someone like that and feels that way. Amnesty is not the best thing for America. How can he profess to be against Obama's heathcare, yet he is for amnesty?

I don't agree with everything Dick Armey believes, nor do I always agree with my senator (DeMint), who is possibly the most conservative senator in DC today. Many people don't like Glenn Beck - but they can't argue with his message.

The tea party movement is much more than any one person. We all benefit (even liberal Democrats, in spite of what they think) when we reduce government and increase personal liberty and prosperity. Without FreedomWorks, our message might never have gotten out - for his part in this I thank Mr. Armey.

I've signed up for every tea party related website that I can find, and donate to several of them. Something I heard just last week (don't remember the source) - we can either donate to the conservative causes or suffer higher taxes and less freedom. Either way the cost is the same, and the donation helps us all - so help all the causes that you believe in, both financially and with your time! And spread the word to your friends and family. We must all get involved or suffer the consequences. We're only a couple of senate votes away from a French-style socialism. We bailed France out twice in the last century - and were rewarded by being told to leave their country. Who will bail us out?

This liberal lunacy MUST STOP NOW! We need the connections and the help that the Armey's and Beck's are willing to provide, but we also need the smaller groups as well. George Washington captured Corwallis at Yorktown because a small rag-tag militia led by a man the British called the "Swamp Fox", among others, ran him out of SC.
My 5G-grandfather and his brother fought with Marion so that I would have the freedom to write this post. We owe it to our grand kids and their grand kids to carry on this tradition.

We are a team - let's work together to bring our country back to its former glory, and leave it a better place than we found it - whatever it takes.
