The Patriot Caucus of South Carolina

There has been a major shift in plans with the recent announcement of the nationwide Tax Day Tea Party in Washington, D.C. and the new Patriot Caucus.

This page will soon host information on buses & hotels for the march on Washington. It will also contain information about the Patriot Caucus and the statewide delegation.

NOTE: We understand there are ALA, 9/12, TPP, Resistnet, icaucus, CC2009 and other organizations across the state. The Patriot Caucus is not in place to duplicate or replace any existing efforts.

Consider partnering with Continental Congress 2009 and the We The People Initiative to take back our country. In November we created the Articles of Freedom, which is a tool all can use to join efforts to restore this great nation. Please check it out at http://articlesoffreedom.us

So if Brown gets elected, there are at least two Republicans who can be bought off to change their vote. The Rep's who could have joined some of the Dem's in the finance committee to kill it there voted for it instead - before they voted against it on the floor, knowing that it would pass despite their vote at that point. It's all a game to pass this thing while trying to make us believe that they're looking out for us. We need to vote them all out!

The latest Fox poll shows the tea party ahead of the Rep’s and Dem’s – not far from 50%, and on the way to beating the other two combined! The people are speaking!

Let's increase the pressure and win this war!

Go here for info on how tea party groups across the land are taking over the Republican party. If we can't beat them, we can at least reform one back to constitutional government - maybe even inject some common sense into government (OK, I'm a dreamer).

From Eric Odom:

Fellow Patriots,

Yesterday I sent out an email about our "final push," and was immediately hit with hundreds of encouraging replies.

It was a strong reminder that our movement is actually far more unified than most of us know or realize.

And it got me thinking... where did the American Liberty Alliance come from and where is it going?

Many of you have been with us since we began in 2008 during the energy fight. Back then we were called the "DontGo Movement," and most politicos credit that movement as a key factor in the "Drill Here, Drill Now" campaign that broke out last year.

In fact, many "strategists" believe that what we did last year is what set in motion an online movement that would snowball enough to eventually help spark the 2009 Tea Party efforts.

There is no doubt that we've all been through a lot and our core membership should be credited with helping kick off a movement that has caught out-of-control government flat footed.

But, as much as I hate to admit... I think we veered a little off track as an organization. I'm not saying this has been bad for us. Quite the opposite, in fact.

I think these past few months have been very telling for us. We learned who to trust, and who to avoid. We learned what works, and what overwhelms the resources to the point that we're forced to temporarily shut down.

And most importantly, we learned how easy it is to veer off course if you're not careful.

So where do we go from here?

I believe we need to get back to our core objective. It reads like this:

"The American Liberty Alliance was started to fill a void among liberty minded organizations. Somewhere between large national organizations and local activists, there was a gap. Groups seemed too focused on folding activists into their own efforts and not supporting the causes and efforts of the activists themselves. American Liberty Alliance began with that focus in mind – making the local activist a priority and building opportunities and interaction around them.

The type of online infrastructure and community we’re building is going to be very important over the next four years. ALA offers something that no one else does, and that’s the willingness to put personalities aside, listen to our members, and focus on the issues important to them. We’re going to engage on a very local level. We’re also going to build the infrastructure so that we can respond very quickly to emerging issues and situations."

In 2010, the American Liberty Alliance is going to completely re-structure and work for you... the real rock stars of this movement.
This movement is not about building big organizations, racing for attention or trying to push out other efforts. This movement is about liberty.

And I believe we as Americans have a duty to protect our liberty. I believe the American Liberty Alliance needs to exist solely as a vessel that helps carry that message for the tens of thousands of liberty loving activists within the movement.

I know times have been a little wild this year. And times are likely to get a little wilder going into 2010.

The American Liberty Alliance is honored to have you as members. And we're honored to stand alongside each of you in this fight.

Now let's go defend our liberty!

For Liberty,
-Eric Odom

Hello Tricia - Please review the following about the CONSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT TAX (the CST). The CST provides a combined taxation/budget control/spending limitation system that will apply to the Federal Government. Without a change in the underlying system, what we hope to achieve through the Tea Party Movement will be greatly hindered.

Dear Fellow Tea Party & Townhall Americans:

The passage of the 16th Amendment to the Constitution in 1913 allowed, for the first time, the imposition of a DIRECT tax by the Federal Government on the American People in the form of the Federal Income Tax. Before the 16th, Article 1, Section 9, Paragraph 4 (1-9-4) of the Constitution prohibited direct taxes unless (quoting 1-9-4) ".... in Proportion to the Census or Enumeration herein before directed to be taken."

What the Census requirement meant is that if New York, for example, had twice the population of New Jersey, New York would incur twice the amount of tax.

I believe that this direct taxing power has set the stage for the horrible level of spending that we are facing today. Bringing the Federal Government back under the control of the Constitution as originally written will require ending this DIRECT taxing power by repealing the 16th Amendment.

The replacement for the Income Tax will be the CONSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT TAX (the CST). The CST will pay for Federal spending through an INDIRECT system of taxation working through the States. It will put in place multiple constraints on the growth in Federal spending

Please go to the STATE GROUPS listing on the TAX DAY TEA PARTY Home Page. In the DISCUSSION FORUM section of any State pick REAL FEDERAL TAX REFORM WORTHY OF THE TEA PARTY/TOWNHALL MOVEMENT. A full detail explanation of how the CST will work is provided there.

Many people understandably believe that America's future is hanging in the balance. I believe that ending the Federal Income Tax and implementing the CST is a crucial step in bringing control of the Federal Government back into the hands of We The People.

Thank you for your concern for our country.

hello SC patriots :) if I am seeing correctly, the last activity on this wall was April 2009. the organizers of Tax Day Tea Party.com are beginning planning for April 2010, and are having a series of phone calls on Tuesday evenings. the plan is on the home page of http://taxdayteaparty.com/ and click "community" you'll see a synopsis of what they are planning in all 50 states for the week of April 10 through 17. This is a singular focus on that one week; enhancing what other organizations/coalitions may be doing locally.

I plan to seek out and contact the organizers of all the SC tea parties in the next week and invite them to join this effort and direct them to this site and hopefully we'll have a robust community planning toward an amazing week in April. Like you, I'm just a regular person, had a small role in planning the Tea Party 2009 in Greenville SC where we had 10K folks speaking out.

spread the word, invite folks to this space, visit the http://taxdayteaparty.com/ site and check out the volunteer opportunities, sign up to be on the Tuesday conf calls ... HERE WE GO!
