Now we have to go after the Supreme Court.
What is going on with these courts? Now that we have more or less gained some kind of control over the Congress. We get blindsided my what I deem to be a corrupted Supreme Court.
Have the corporate wolf packs gotten to the Supreme Court? With the decision that was handed down recently that corporations can give money to political campaigns, it would seem that they got to some of them. These people are suppose to interpret the Constitution.
I don't think that the Founding Fathers ever wrote anything like this decision into the Constitution, I don't care how it's interpreted. The decision has given the corporate establishment an open door to steal elections by buying votes and taking away our right of choice, our right to have our votes counted. They have given corporations the keys to our house! They have given them the right to come into our homes and do whatever they want ! It has opened the door to a propaganda machine that can mesmerize the voters into making decisions without much debate. This is very dangerous, and anti-Democratic. The Supreme Court is wrong and we have to find a way to stop them from making unconstitutional decisions like the one they have just made.
We must strike down this Supreme Court and their decisions, We need to establish more than ever, Term limits and the Line item veto. I would even say that we could Amend the Constitution and set term limits for the Supreme Court.
Within the checks and balances theory , the Supreme Court is the only branch of governmnet that cannot be checked by the American people. That kind of power should not belong to any one government organization. That can be very dangerous as it is evidenced by their most resent undemocratic decision.
Come on people, lets show them whom they are dealing with!

You leave out that the political and social progressives are correctly defined in you reply. These are the Morons that believe the the Constitution is a living and breathing document that is subject to change. The very thing you oppose.
If you remember the discussion I posted about Carolina's School Board removing from the History Books any history prior to 1877. Well, that's them.

My question and request is please listen to what Justice Thomas had to say at the hyperlink listed above (click on it and it will take you there) and then give me your view of whether you understand and appreciate his conservative view and what he is saying or whether you disagree with him.

Gregg I did not find the video on the link you posted. I did look up Justice Thomas and I found a recent speech that he made .

WASHINGTON — In expansive remarks at a law school in Florida, Justice Clarence Thomas on Tuesday vigorously defended the Supreme Court’s recent campaign finance decision.
Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission. By a 5-to-4 vote, with Justice Thomas in the majority, the court ruled last month that corporations had a First Amendment right to spend money to support or oppose political candidates.
“I found it fascinating that the people who were editorializing against it were The New York Times Company and The Washington Post Company,” Justice Thomas said. “These are corporations.”
The part of the McCain-Feingold law struck down in Citizens United contained an exemption for news reports, commentaries and editorials. But Justice Thomas said that reflected a legislative choice rather than a constitutional principle.
He added that the history of Congressional regulation of corporate involvement in politics had a dark side, pointing to the Tillman Act, which banned corporate contributions to federal candidates in 1907.
“Go back and read why Tillman introduced that legislation,” Justice Thomas said, referring to Senator Benjamin Tillman. “Tillman was from South Carolina, and as I hear the story he was concerned that the corporations, Republican corporations, were favorable toward blacks and he felt that there was a need to regulate them.”
It is thus a mistake, the justice said, to applaud the regulation of corporate speech as “some sort of beatific action.”
Justice Thomas said the First Amendment’s protections applied regardless of how people chose to assemble to participate in the political process.
“If 10 of you got together and decided to speak, just as a group, you’d say you have First Amendment rights to speak and the First Amendment right of association,” he said. “If you all then formed a partnership to speak, you’d say we still have that First Amendment right to speak and of association.”
“But what if you put yourself in a corporate form?” Justice Thomas asked, suggesting that the answer must be the same.
Asked about his attitude toward the two decisions overruled in Citizens United, he said, “If it’s wrong, the ultimate precedent is the Constitution.”
Justice Thomas would not directly address the controversy over Mr. Obama’s criticism of the Citizens United ruling or Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr.’s mouthed “not true” in response. But he did say he had stopped attending the addresses.
“I don’t go because it has become so partisan and it’s very uncomfortable for a judge to sit there,” he said, adding that “there’s a lot that you don’t hear on TV — the catcalls, the whooping and hollering and under-the-breath comments.”
“One of the consequences,” he added in an apparent reference to last week’s address, “is now the court becomes part of the conversation, if you want to call it that, in the speeches. It’s just an example of why I don’t go.”
I can't give you any thoughts on this yet. I have to research it some more, and think about it!
I read some info on the Tillman Act. Didn't find any reference to Republicans and Blacks as Thomas referred. I did learn tha it was Theodore Roosevelt who first pushed for Camapign Finance Reform.

When you do your research, I would suggest that you also look at what Political Party was in the majority at the time of their appointments and what Justices or group of Justices desented or comfirmed. See if you can identify their political and social views in their decisions ( Left or Right) I think you'll find that even though their remarks in their decisions include the Bill of Rights Amendments. their conclusions are based on their political affiliations. hope this helps Smitty

Nice job on the research. I did not know that Theodore Roosevelt first pushed for campaign finance reform. But it makes sense he was our first Progressive president. Are you familiar with the history of Progressives?

The Liberty and Justice for All Tax and Government Reform Plan
Goals:
1. To honor Almighty God, the Creator, the God and Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who guided the hearts and minds of the courageous men that wrote our Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. God only asks for ten (10) percent of the first fruits of our labors and to also give gifts and offerings. The government does not deserve to receive any more than God. Almighty God shall be the provider of our needs not any local, state or federal government agencies. It shall be the responsibility of the Christian churches and charities to provide for those who are truly in need of assistance such as food, clothing or shelter. All those who are physically and mentally able to work, but refuse to do so will not receive any assistance from the Christian churches, or charities. No government agencies will be formed for such purposes and those that now exist will be eliminated.
2. To honor those who founded these United States of America, a Great Nation, and Shining City on a Hill.
3. To honor those who have freely given their lives during the founding of this Nation to establish and protect its God honoring liberties and freedoms.
4. To honor those who protect this Nation and other nations around the world from the evils of tyranny.
5. It is short and simple.
6. Written in clear and concise context.
7. Easily understood by all Americans and Territorial Citizens.
8. Replace the current unconstitutional tax system.
9. Create a Just and Constitutional form of taxation and government.
10. Restricts the federal government’s power of taxation and spending.
11. Completely eliminates the governments Infernal Robbery System (IRS) involved with the current taxation system. The IRS will be terminated.
12. Cuts the behemoth federal bureaucracy and government waste, fraud, and abuse and saves tax payers billions of dollars.
13. Places the power of taxation in the hands of the American and Territorial Citizens and the individual States and Territories.
14. Collects sufficient revenue for the Local, County, State, Federal, and Territorial governments. Revenue only to be used for national security in securing our borders from the illegal entry of criminals who refuse to obey our immigration laws and hostile foreign nations or terrorists groups who seek to destroy us, for a strong military to protect us from foreign invasion or acts of terrorism, for law enforcement agencies, court systems, jail and prison systems to enforce the just laws of our nation and remove convicted criminals from our streets, for infrastructure such as water, sewer, and sanitation systems, roads, bridges, and public, state, and national parks. Education will first be the responsibility and choice of the parents or guardians of children. Then the local school districts may provide standards for public education system without state or federal government interference. The federal government will no longer mandate to the states any regulations concerning public education or provide any funding.
15. Benevolence will be the responsibility of the Christian Churches and Organizations who have done more than any government program to help the poor in this nation and around the world.
16. Removes the current thieving, unjust, burdensome, and punishing taxation system and government regulations from the lives of the American people, small businesses, and corporations therefore decreasing the cost of living and doing business and increasing research and development, innovation, productivity, employee wages and benefits, profitability, and prosperity.
Plan:
1. It is a National and Territorial Sales Tax. This is the only tax that is truly just and puts the power of revenue control back into the hands of the American people, the States and Territories.
2. This National and Territorial Sales Tax is only three (3) to seven (7) percent.
3. Mandated that the federal government cannot raise the tax higher than seven (7) percent. It is not amendable except when there is a national emergency. National Emergency: defined as- a declaration of war or a catastrophic national disaster. The federal government can raise tax to no higher than ten (10) percent during a national emergency. Return to previous rate after the national emergency is over. No exceptions.
4. States and Territories collect the tax. This is no problem because most states collect sales taxes already.
5. The States and Territories collect the taxes from the business and service providers every quarter.
6. Businesses and service providers are paid a collection fee of 1% of the total collected taxes for each quarter. Businesses that collect the National and Territorial Sales Tax can only be audited if probable cause can be established proving beyond a reasonable doubt that an offense has been committed by the business in the collection of the tax and/or payment to the State or Territory.
7. The States and Territories will keep fifty (50) to seventy (80) percent of the collected taxes for their treasuries and then send the remainder to the Federal Treasury. The percentage the State or Territory keeps is dependent upon the population of the State or Territory and the responsible use of those funds. This same standard will apply to the federal government.
8. The Federal Reserve banking system will be dissolved and the government will return to the Gold Standard to back currency. The federal government shall not enact and shall remove all existing restrictions on the private purchase and ownership of gold or any such precious metals or stones.
9. The States and Territories will determine and distribute a percentage of the collected taxes in their treasuries to County and Local Governments.
10. Everyone pays the sales tax on all goods and services at the time of purchase, absolutely no exceptions or exemptions.
11. Everyone is required to pay the sales tax in all income levels from poorest to richest, businesses, corporations, local, county, state, and federal governments in the United States and all Territories. Charitable organizations, churches, synagogues, mosques will pay this National and Territorial Sales Tax on all goods and services except those goods and services used to provide relief to the truly poor, homeless, hungry, or destitute or victims of disasters. No charitable gifts, tithes or offerings will be taxed at any time.
12. Eliminate all personal, payroll, inheritance, business, or corporate income tax filings, payments, and audits.
13. Eliminate all tax deductions, rebates, refunds, shelters, loop holes, etc.
14. Eliminate all federal subsidies, grants, and loans to individuals, businesses, corporations, states and territories.
15. Eliminate the need for individuals, businesses, and corporations to hire expensive Certified Public Accountants (CPA’s) or tax attorneys to interpret unjust and confusing tax law and forms.
16. Eliminates all lobbying and earmarks.
17. Eliminate payroll deducted Social Security and Medicare tax withholdings.
18. Plans for saving for retirement will be the responsibility of the employers and the individual citizens. All monies paid to the Social Security fund will be immediately refunded to all those who have already paid plus interest due. These monies can be used by the people to invest in their own retirement plans.
19. Medical insurance will be the responsibility of the employers and the individual citizens. All monies paid to the Medicare fund will be immediately refunded plus interest due to all those who have already paid. These monies can be used by the people to purchase their own insurance plans or start a medical savings account.
Action needed to enact the plan:
1. Find, encourage, nominate and elect God honoring, patriotic men and women who will serve our nation unselfishly and sacrificially. Who will also courageously uphold the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights in the original clear and concise context in which they were written never holding these documents up for interpretation. They must be willing to place a hold on enacting any new legislation, laws and regulations. All existing legislation, laws, and regulations shall be reviewed and any found to be unjust, unconstitutional, and burdensome will immediately be repealed and removed. I.E. Roe verses Wade, Tax Code and etc.
2. Immediately remove from elected office all evil, arrogant, self serving, career politicians and all persons appointed to any czar positions. All czars positions will be immediately eliminated.
3. Enact term limits for all elected or appointed federal, state, and local government positions. The state and federal Houses of Representatives and Senates will both serve four (4) year terms concurrent with the President of the United States. They will not be allowed to serve more than two (2) consecutive terms and no more than a total of 16 years. They will not be allowed to vote for themselves a salary amount or increase or any benefits. The Districts in the States or Territories they represent will set the salaries and provide benefits for them. No retirement benefits or pensions shall be provided and those currently receiving such benefits shall have them suspended.
4. Abolish the current unconstitutional, burdensome, and unjust tax system and the (IRS) Infernal Robbery System.
5. Immediately cut all government programs and agencies that do not provide for national security or infrastructure.
6. The local governments will only fund law enforcement agencies such as Municipal, County Constables and Sheriffs. The state governments will only fund law enforcement agencies such as State Troopers or Rangers. The federal or territorial governments will only fund federal law enforcement agencies such as: U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, U.S. Customs Service, U.S. Marshals Service, Federal Bureau of Investigations and other various law enforcement and intelligence agencies directly related to national security. Their duties shall be securing our borders from the illegal entry of criminals who refuse to obey our immigration laws. Protect us from and apprehend criminals or terrorists and /or invaders from hostile nations who seek to destroy our nation by committing terrorist acts. Protect and uphold the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights and enforce the just laws of our nation. Not at any time will a foreign terrorist or invader committing an act of terror or war against this nation be tried in a criminal court of law. They will only be tried by a military tribunal.
7. Provide for a strong U.S. Military that will protect our U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights and protect the citizens of the United States of America and its Territories from terrorists and /or hostile nations who seek to destroy us. Provide for local, state, and federal courts, jails, and prison systems to enforce the just laws of our nation, remove convicted criminals from our streets, and enact punishment upon them. Enact and strictly enforce restitution laws forcing those who committed crimes against persons and property crimes to pay seven times the original dollar amount in restitution to their victims.
8. Provide for and/or regulate private infrastructure such as electrical, water, sewer, and sanitation systems, roads, bridges, and public and national parks.
9. Enact tort or lawsuit reform to stop all unjust and frivolous lawsuits. Enact a looser pays system in which the plaintiff’s and lawyers or legal firms would also have to pay court costs, fines and penalties.
10. Stop unjust and unconstitutional judicial activism (judges legislating from the bench). Judges are to be held to the only standard and power they have been given through the judicial branch of government, which is to uphold the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights and just laws written in a clear and concise context. The Declaration of Independence, U.S Constitution and Bill of Rights were all written in a clear and concise context for all men to understand and were never to be held up for interpretation. Every law or regulation must be written accordingly to the same standard or it is an unjust and unconstitutional law.
11. The Founding Fathers of this nation used the Bible, the Word of God as their standard when prayerfully considering the words written in our Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights and in every just law of our nation. We must return to that standard. The true and living God must govern in the hearts of the men who govern our nation. All others will lead us to tyranny. As, We the People have been witnessing for last fifty (50) to one hundred (100) years of the history of our nation.
